About Specialty Books
Specialty Books was founded in 1987 for the sole purpose of providing textbook services to non traditional students and academic programs. The company grew out of the experiences of an individual holding a doctorate in adult education, who had been directly involved in the operation of non traditional study programs and student services. Through rapid growth it remains a company emphasizing service, not product sales.

Specialty Books has evolved with the changing needs of the students and programs it serves. The staff of Specialty Books recognized that a "textbook service" was only one of the many ways support services may be provided to this rapidly growing student population.

Specialty Books responded not by offering institutions an avenue for distribution of books, but by sitting down with each customer, analyzing student, program and institutional needs and designing a unique service based on those findings.

We are now building on our success by adapting our expertise and our access to hundreds of thousands of books to the users and the demands of the Internet, to become a truly Global Bookstore.
