Recycle your books
In order to maximize your textbook investment, Specialty Books provides you with an opportunity to sell your books for cash, allowing you to get some financial return while providing other students the benefit of a recycled book.

How does the service work?
Specialty Books, in partnership with a national used book wholesaler, may offer to purchase your books at a nationally established price. Experienced representatives will quote you a buyback price, and then you may decide if you would like to resell them. Books purchased through this method are received by Specialty Books and then shipped to the national wholesaler.

How much do I get for my books?
The value of your textbooks is determined by national wholesalers and depends on several factors. National demand for a particular title is a major factor in determining the buyback value. Obviously the greater the demand, the greater the value of the book. If there are sufficient quantities of your book in stock at national wholesalers to meet future demand, the book will have little or no value. The condition of the book also affects the value. If pages are missing or damaged, or the cover is damaged, the book will have little resale value. As a general rule, the value of a book can range from no value up to 40% of the price of the book in new condition. Again, based on the factors stated above, the value of the book will vary. Buyback prices are changed ten times per year to reflect changes in the market, and it is important that you act quickly when our buyback representatives provide price information to you. Unfortunately used study guides, working papers or lab manuals, custom published materials (materials made specifically for your class), audio and video tapes, and computer software will generally have no resale value.
